President's notes January 23, 2012
Yipes, where did January go! I promised the calender and here it is. Hopefully you can all access and print it before any changes get made! I have included holidays, HICHA, and HQHA events. Not enough room to include all horse events, and apologies for any conflicts in advance. We try our best to please.This should be an exciting year. We already have memberships in the mail, and some new members joining up to come play with us.You can download our 2012 membership form off the website and senit to us with yuor updated email address. Please note any email changes for us to correct.
We have all our show dates and judges in place. HQHA shows will be held at Honokaa arena due to cost and central location. We will also try something new this year, combining HICHA show and entries into two of our AQHA/HQHA shows, June and July. Since the majority of the HICHA are also HQHA members we are hoping it works out for the benefit of all the members.
Our arena day dates are applied for and we will try to make them more event focused so everyone can learn more about the different events, rules, and learn how to be better horsemen. Horsemanship is really the key to any event or activity. Our goal is to become better students.
We will continue to search for clinicians willing to come to Hawaii for our continueing education.
I will include from time to time AQHA updates that I receive that may explain the changes in AQHA shows and rules. If there is anything you cannot open, please email back and we'll see how we can change it so you can. Please spread the word about our dates and calender as I am sure there are emails not getting thru to other members. We will post the calender on the website, along with updated rules. I encourage the AQHA members to request their rule books from AQHA.
First AQHA /HQHA show is march 17 & 18, so get out there and get the hair off your horses! No excuses! Aloha for now. Enjoy the ride!
